In August 2025, with bargaining costs still uncertain, Pembroke Public Schools kept a broad position freeze in place for FY26. Science, English substitute, business, Latin, counseling, math-intervention, behavioral-program, and library positions were held frozen or cut during that period.

Several months later, in November 2025, the district received $452,000 in new-growth and Chapter 70 funding, which allowed it to begin restoring some of those positions. Clerical paraprofessionals, a math interventionist, behavioral-program staff, a high-school librarian, and a part-time business teacher were moved back into the plan, while other positions stayed frozen.

By April 2026, the district's balanced FY27 plan of $41,280,729 made further progress on staffing. It funds required special-education teachers at Hobomock, PCMS, and PHS, adds a fifth-grade teacher at Hobomock, and expects several previously frozen positions to be filled, marking a gradual shift from broad cuts to targeted restoration.
