District news
Pennsauken proposes $2 million heating upgrades at four elementary schools

What happened
The district proposes replacing boilers and related heating equipment at Fine, Franklin, Carson and Delair elementary schools through an energy-efficiency project. The estimated $1.99 million cost would be offset by $1.30 million in PSE&G incentives, leaving a district share of about $690,689; the agenda estimates annual savings of $77,529.
Why it matters to families
The work would upgrade heating systems at four schools while using utility incentives to reduce the district's cost; the proposal does not include Phifer, the Intermediate School or the high school, which were listed as not qualifying or requiring further review.
