Board adopts limits on athletic-field lighting
What happened
The board adopted policy 3285 governing temporary and permanent main-field lights, with use limited to district school activities and restrictions on hours and seasons.
Why it matters to families
The policy sets expectations for school access and neighboring homes. It does not authorize rental of the lights for third-party or village youth programs.
The evidence
The May 5 recording explains that school activities can include uses beyond games around 112:00–114:38 and records second-reading approval around 116:14–116:29. The April 21 clarification sets 150 hours annually, excluding postseason; a prior per-season draft was corrected. Practices generally end by 8 p.m. and games by 9 p.m., with specified exceptions.
