District news
Rome Free Academy has an interim principal after the principal left
What happened
The July 16, 2026 staff list shows the Rome Free Academy principal's resignation effective Aug. 3 and an assistant principal's resignation July 31. The board named Assistant Principal Kristie Boisen interim principal starting Aug. 4. On Oct. 5 it extended her interim role through June 30, 2027. No permanent principal has been named.
Why it matters to families
RFA is the district's only high school. The district has not named a permanent principal, and the interim role now runs through June 30, 2027.
The evidence
The July 16, 2026 minutes list the RFA principal and assistant principal resignations and a resolution appointing Boisen interim principal effective Aug. 4 'until a Principal ... has been appointed.' The Oct. 5, 2026 minutes confirm her appointment through June 30, 2027. The same July meeting also named an interim principal for Denti Elementary, whose principal post had been vacant since April 14. The documents do not give reasons for the departures.
