What happened

The board selected Silver Creek Modular for the two-story Granite Hills expansion and approved six interim classroom buildings. Staff targeted the interim classrooms for August 2027 and the larger expansion roughly a year later, subject to plans and approvals. The May concept had 19 classrooms and an estimated $22 million overall construction cost; the manufacturer award was only one part of that project.

Why it matters to families

Growth is driving new middle-school capacity. Procurement advances the project, but does not mean classrooms are already built or open.

The evidence

The recorded August agenda approves the building manufacturer and six modular classrooms. Staff described plans due in November, state submission in December and interim space needed the following school year. The official page accidentally labels this audio September 8; its agenda matches the August 4 board brief.
