District news

$98.75 million building project goes to a public vote on Dec. 15, 2026

Facilities

What happened

The district plans a $98.75 million project to fix boilers, electrical systems and roofs, update classrooms and libraries, add air conditioning in gyms and cafeterias, make entrances safer, and build new athletic fields at the high school. About $45.46 million would come from savings and $53.29 million from bonds, with state aid expected to cover about 72.5% of eligible costs. The district says it expects no added local tax impact. Design would run 2027-2028 and construction 2028-2031.

Why it matters to families

Most district buildings were built between about 1950 and 1970. Voters decide on Dec. 15 whether to approve the work and the borrowing.

The evidence

The district's Sept. 16, 2026 presentation shows the cost split, aid share and timeline; the project page lists the vote date and building-by-building work.
