District news
Arrowwood drainage work is taking priority over a planned bathroom project

What happened
Saginaw Township Community Schools says it must address drainage and parking-lot problems at Arrowwood after finding that the site could still flood during heavy rain. The work will likely include a retention pond, and the planned bathroom project has been postponed so drainage can be addressed first.
Why it matters to families
The district identified a capacity problem at the county drain that could leave Arrowwood at risk of flooding, and the bathroom work will be delayed while the district focuses on drainage.
The evidence
At its September 14, 2026 Committee-of-the-Whole meeting, the district reported that a 1.5-inch rain in 20 minutes exposed a capacity issue at the county line; the school’s pipes were clear up to that point, but flooding could still occur. Officials said they would work on parking-lot drainage and likely add a retention pond, shifting priorities and postponing the bathroom project.
