District news
Budget projects $11.4 million General Fund deficit

What happened
The district’s 2025–26 unaudited General Fund closed with a $5.3 million deficit, and its 2026–27 budget projects an $11.4 million deficit. The budget projects a $12.9 million draw on the unrestricted fund balance, reducing it from $30.4 million to $17.5 million; the economic-uncertainty reserve is listed at $6.1 million.
Why it matters to families
The successive deficits and planned 42% decline in unrestricted fund balance signal significant districtwide budget pressure and reduce the district’s financial flexibility, although the budget still projects a positive unrestricted balance.
