Board adopts revised attendance and grading policies

Day-to-day

What happened

On July 7, 2026 the board adopted revised Policy #5100 (Attendance) and Policy #4710 (Grading). In September the superintendent said attendance matters so much to student success that the district changed its policy.

Why it matters to families

Attendance and grading rules shape daily school life for students and parents. The collected records do not list the new rules, so families should check the policy text in the district's policy manual.

The evidence

The July 7, 2026 Board Brief says the board 'adopted Revised Policies #5100 Attendance and #4710 Grading' after a second reading. The September 15, 2026 brief says the superintendent explained why the attendance policy had to change.
