Sudbury Public Schools — Day-to-day

The School Committee has been updating the rules that shape a student's day-to-day experience in Sudbury Public Schools. The first step came in November 2025, when the district reported on how it is putting into practice its newly adopted policy limiting students' personal electronic devices in schools — a change aimed at reshaping how those devices are used during the school day.

The committee followed up in March 2026 by unanimously adopting Policy IJNDG, a districtwide framework governing how teachers and students use generative artificial intelligence. Together, these two decisions reflect a deliberate effort to set clear expectations around the everyday technologies students now encounter.

Most recently, in April 2026, the committee unanimously awarded the facilities lease for extended-day operations to Sudbury Extended Day, keeping before- and after-school programming in place. Across all three actions, the committee addressed the day-to-day operations of the district — from classroom technology to the spaces students use outside regular school hours.
