South Woods Middle School starts the year with an interim principal

What happened

South Woods Middle School's principal and one assistant principal retired on Aug. 31, 2026. On Aug. 26 the board named Charles Cardillo interim principal (Sept. 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027) and Lisa Greiner interim assistant principal. On Sept. 14 it also named Dr. Daniella Baglivo-Rypl as another interim assistant principal starting Sept. 15.

Why it matters to families

The school's top leaders are all temporary for 2026-27, so students and parents will have new people running the building. The documents do not say whether permanent leaders will be hired.

The evidence

Aug. 26, 2026 minutes record the appointments (interim principal at $850 a day; interim assistant principal at $725 a day) and list the retirements effective 8-31-2026. Sept. 14, 2026 minutes record the second interim assistant principal appointment. The Aug. 26 board also approved a temporary change to the principals' contract, including its retirement benefit.
