Telluride puts a $2.67 million mill levy override on the Nov 3 ballot

Financial

What happened

On June 9, 2026 the board approved ballot language asking voters to raise taxes by $2,674,059 a year to pay for teachers, class sizes and programs. The estimated cost is about $115 a year (about $9.59 a month) for a home worth $1 million, or about 1.65 mills.

Why it matters to families

Without more local money the district expects its state funding to keep falling. The measure would be 20 percent of total program funding, bringing all override money to 50 percent.

The evidence

The June 9 meeting packet contains the resolution with the ballot question and the fact sheet with the tax estimate. The election was Nov 3, 2026; results were not found in the documents reviewed.
