Topsfield Public Schools — Day-to-day

During the 2025-26 school year, Topsfield Public Schools' governing committee took up a range of day-to-day policy items, the earliest and most consequential of which was a new restriction on student wireless devices. In September 2025, the committee approved the Away for the Day policy with edits, requiring that student devices be stored during the school day except for authorized educational or support uses.

One month later, in October 2025, the committee adopted or revised five district policies in a single action, covering wellness, technology security, sex-education notice, homebound instruction, and student wireless devices — the last of which reinforced and extended the device rules approved the prior month.

Most recently, in April 2026, the committee took up a separate matter and, after a public hearing, unanimously voted not to admit students through the state's interdistrict school-choice program for the 2026-27 school year, opting the district out of the program entirely.
