Voters approved a new school bond package in April 2026, on top of an already-active $200M+ bond program
Tulsa Public Schools · Jul 13, 2026
What happened
On April 7, 2026, Tulsa voters approved a new general-obligation bond authorization for the district, alongside the regular Board of Education election. It came on top of the bond program voters already authorized in 2021: the district issued Series 2025A ($30,000,000), 2025B ($46,500,000), taxable 2025C ($7,630,000), and 2026A ($40,000,000) against the 2021 authorization, then Series 2026B ($54,000,000) and taxable 2026C ($3,515,000) citing the new April 2026 authorization -- over $180,000,000 issued in roughly 18 months.
Why it matters to families
Bond debt is repaid by local property owners through the district's tax levy over many years. A second bond authorization arriving before the first is fully spent means the district's borrowing -- and the debt families and other property owners are servicing -- keeps growing.
The evidence
The July 13, 2026 bond resolution explicitly cites bonds "authorized at an election duly called and held for such purpose (June 8, 2021 and April 7, 2026)", confirming the new authorization passed; the district's bond agendas from January 2025 through July 2026 record each issuance amount in sequence.
