Annual safety training now required for Val Verde volunteers
What happened
Starting July 1, 2026, volunteer applicants must complete a mandated-reporter course each year and upload the certificate. Applications will not be approved without it.
Why it matters to families
Parents who help in classrooms or on field trips need to complete this step before volunteering. Fingerprint and health requirements still depend on the volunteer role.
The evidence
The official 2026–27 volunteer page says annual mandated-reporter certification is required for every volunteer category. It also requires annual application renewal and explains that returning volunteers should update their existing application.
