Westfield board considers calendars for the 2027–28 and 2028–29 school years
What happened
The board agenda proposes approving school calendars for 2027–28 and 2028–29; the records do not establish that the calendars were adopted. The 2027–28 calendar lists April 10, 11 and 12 as emergency make-up days, with unused days potentially converting to closures on June 16, June 15 and May 26, in that order.
Why it matters to families
Families and staff can plan ahead for two school years, including the listed contingency days that may affect spring attendance and end-of-year dates.
The evidence
The October 13, 2026 agenda lists approval of the 2027–28 and 2028–29 school calendars as Board Action Agenda item 9C. The attached 2027–28 calendar states that three emergency closing days are built in and specifies the make-up/unused-day sequence; the agenda is a proposal, not an adopted outcome.
