District to write AI best practices; expert visits Dec. 1-2

Curriculum

What happened

On Oct. 13, 2026 the superintendent said the district will build AI best practices and procedures. AI expert Dr. Tony Frontier will meet student and parent groups Dec. 1 and the board Dec. 2. Board members have asked what training and guardrails teachers and students will get.

Why it matters to families

AI tools are already in classrooms. No AI policy has been found in the collected records, so these steps are likely to shape what students may do with AI.

The evidence

The Oct. 13 meeting captions describe the plan. The Sept. 8 captions show board questions, and Aug. 11 captions say AI best practices are a superintendent goal. Nothing is adopted yet.
