Wilmar proposes higher school facility fees on new development

What happened
The board is scheduled to consider raising statutory school facility fees to $5.38 per square foot for residential development and $0.87 for commercial or industrial development. If adopted, the higher rates would apply as provided by law; the agenda does not establish that the board approved them.
Why it matters to families
Higher fees would increase the cost of new development and provide more funding for school facilities. The proposed change is not yet an adopted decision in this record.
The evidence
The October 28, 2026 agenda lists a public hearing on the proposed increase and, as Action Item 6.1, recommends adopting Resolution 2627-6 at $5.38 per square foot for residential development and $0.87 for commercial or industrial development, effective as provided by law. The agenda does not include the meeting outcome.
