What happened

An August 2026 bond update shows the new Summit Heights junior high has a $77 million budget, with $14.5 million (18.9%) spent so far. The beam signing is done and the work is in progress.

Why it matters to families

This is the biggest single bond project in the district, so how fast the money is used and whether it stays on budget affects when families get the new school.

The evidence

The Aug. 4, 2026 bond projects update lists Summit Heights at $77,000,000 in funds, $14,541,057 spent, $62,458,943 left, and the $8,000,000 premium as complete. In February the board also approved a $587,541 architecture addendum for more design services.
