What happened

The district received two state Small District Modernization grants of $5,245,000 and $5,994,803. In summer 2026 the money paid for new heating and cooling units, roof work, new windows and doors, a new chemistry lab and other repairs. Some work is still unfinished, and the heating and cooling upgrades are set to finish by December 2027.

Why it matters to families

These are the biggest building upgrades on the record and affect every student in both buildings. Work will keep going during the school year, in evenings and on weekends. The district has said it may not need all of its local capital projects levy because of the grants.

The evidence

The approved December 15, 2025 minutes report both grant amounts and the note about the capital levy. The May 26, June 29 and August 25, 2026 minutes record the project schedule, the summer work list and completion resolutions.
