District news
2026-27 budget adopted; tax rate set at $1.1454

What happened
On August 27, 2026 the board adopted the 2026-27 budget and a combined tax rate of $1.1454 per $100 of property value: $0.6754 for operations and $0.47 for debt payments. Earlier in August it approved an agreement to buy attendance credit from the state. Texas uses that option for districts with high property wealth, which send part of their local taxes to the state. The 2025-26 budget had been about $4.27 million with a planned $54,000 shortfall.
Why it matters to families
The tax rate sets what local property owners pay for the schools and the bond, and buying attendance credit shifts some local tax money to the state.
