Bangor School District
Funding structure, how it compares to peers, and where major projects stand.
How is Bangor governed and funded?
A seven-member elected board oversees the district. State aid and local property taxes are major funding sources, subject to state revenue limits; electors at the annual district meeting and the board have separate roles.
Budget and levy
On October 21 electors approved a $5,007,753 levy 8–0, then the board separately approved the levy and budget 6–0. The 2026–27 general fund budget shows $11,124,408 in revenue and uses.
Facilities
The board approved track resurfacing and field and fence work in May; completion and final costs are not established by the approval alone.
Early learning
The board approved an additional 4K section for 2026–27 and hired a teacher in August. A five-day program was discussed as a future possibility.
The current actual per-pupil expenditure was not verified. The revenue-limit amount per member is not actual spending.
