Two middle schools launch a more structured career-exploration program

What happened
Blue Valley is launching a career-exploration and durable-skills effort at Aubry Bend Middle School and Wolf Springs Middle School this quarter. The plan connects coursework with career pathways and has eighth-graders use Xello career-interest lessons before beginning individual plans of study.
Why it matters to families
Students at these schools will get a more organized opportunity to connect what they learn with workplace skills and future career options before high school.
The evidence
At the October 12 meeting, the chief of schools said the program was launching at Aubry Bend and Wolf Springs in the second quarter, with work on durable skills, career pathways, and teacher input. Career fairs, guest speakers, industry partnerships, and project-based learning were described as activities at all middle schools; the new initial launch is at the two named schools, with expansion to other schools discussed for next year.
