What happened

In August 2026 the superintendent reported that the new floor in the remodeled elementary gym has bubbles and uneven spots because it did not stick properly. The gym cannot be used during a 90-day restriction, and the district may hold contractor T.W. Clark responsible.

Why it matters to families

Elementary students lose their gym while the floor is tested. The district says the floor would likely fail with use and may refuse to accept it, charge the contractor $2,000 a day in damages, and have its attorney put the contractor on formal notice.

The evidence

August 31, 2026 minutes, construction update: PVC flooring with significant bubbles and uneven areas; floor reportedly removed and reinstalled without notifying the district; no written notice until late July though installed in February; independent inspection and testing; possible $2,000/day liquidated damages; gym unusable during the 90-day restriction. September 28 minutes say more testing by Fulcrum is underway.
