What happened

On August 12, 2026, the board changed graduation requirements, starting in 2026-27. Under the new handbook, juniors and seniors need 27 credits to graduate, sophomores need 26, and freshmen need 25. In June, the principal shared a plan to move from an 8-period day to a 7-period day.

Why it matters to families

High school students and families should check how many credits they still need. A shorter class schedule changes how many courses a student can take each year.

The evidence

The approved August 12, 2026 minutes record the motion to change graduation requirements as shown in the handbook, starting in 2026-27. The handbook lists credits by class. The June 10 minutes describe the 7-period day plan as information only. The records do not show the old credit totals.
