What happened

Century's amended 2025-26 budget shows the Educational Fund spending $4,408,913 against $3,951,862 in revenue. That $457,051 gap drops the fund's estimated balance from $2,131,557 to $1,688,857 by June 30, 2026. The Transportation Fund also ran short by $65,896. The board approved the amended budget on June 15, 2026.

Why it matters to families

The Educational Fund pays teachers and classroom costs. Spending reserves at this pace for several years would leave little cushion. The state form says a formal deficit reduction plan is not required yet.
