How are district decisions and funding organized?

Elected board; state and local funding

The elected Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District Board of Education governs the district. The district publishes board agendas, minutes and recordings.

Board meetings

The district says regular meetings are scheduled for the fourth Tuesday of each month. Special and committee meetings may occur separately.

Budget and levy

The revised 2026–27 booklet lists a $35,307,484 property tax levy and a balanced $70,853,711.19 General Fund budget. The board approved a revised budget and levy on October 29; final filing was not independently verified.

Student devices

The March 24, 2026 published version states: During instructional time, devices are generally prohibited with specified educational, health, IEP/504 and emergency exceptions. The definition differs between high school and elementary/middle schools.

Artificial intelligence

The March published AI policy requires teacher permission and disclosure for student academic use and human review. An October board-approved update selects enterprise-grade AI and prohibits AI agents; the public manual has not yet reflected that update.

School board election

The district announces an April 6, 2027 election with up to two selections; candidates had not been published as of November 6, 2026.

Spending per pupil

A comparable current per-pupil spending figure was not verified.
