How the district is funded and governed

County school district governed by an elected five-member board

The Board adopts budgets, tax rates, policies, staffing allocations and facilities actions. For FY2026 the General Fund budget includes $28.041 million in local receipts and $33.676 million in state receipts within $63.925 million total receipts, plus $8.594 million in beginning balance.

FY2026 resources

The working budget appropriates $72.518 million in General Fund resources and expenditures, including $63.925 million in receipts and $8.594 million in beginning balance.

Facilities work

On March 24 the Board approved combined Baker Intermediate and Robert D. Campbell roof-project plans totaling $3.254 million, with most work planned for summer and some work potentially continuing into the school year.

Current tax rates

The signed 2026-27 F-1 records 65.40 cents per $100 for real and tangible property, 53.5 cents for motor vehicles and a 3% utility tax.

Technology rules

Current policy restricts student device use and requires procedures for safe, private and ethical use of AI and generative AI.

Many meetings are represented only by official notices. Those records establish that a meeting was scheduled, not what the Board decided.

Next: Future Board records should document completion, final costs and any remaining Robert D. Campbell renovation phases.
  1. Board agenda considered construction management and schematic design.
  2. Board approved roof bids and revised combined BG-1.
  3. Special meeting approved additional roof-related change-order and purchasing actions.
