Funding structure, how it compares to peers, and where major projects stand.

How Clinton schools are funded and governed
The five-member Board is appointed by the City of Clinton and governs budgets, policies, staffing and facilities. The FY2025 audit shows government-wide support led by $33.18 million in unrestricted state and federal grants, $21.26 million in property taxes, $6.15 million in operating grants, and $1.71 million in charges for services. These government-wide sources differ from General Fund balances and annual budget resources.
FY2025 audit
The audit gives unmodified financial and federal opinions and reports no financial, federal or state findings; Clinton was not classified as a low-risk auditee.
Fund position
Governmental funds ended FY2025 with $34.96 million; $17.75 million was unassigned General Fund balance. Government-wide expenses exceeded revenues in the year.
FY2027 budget context
The district said more than 70% of the FY2027 budget was allocated to salaries and benefits and requested no city millage increase for a twelfth year.
Phones and AI
Current device rules differ by grade band, while grades 6–12 expressly treat unauthorized AI help as cheating.
Meeting evidence
Twelve agenda bodies cover November 2025 through October 2026, but no approved minutes or recordings were located, so proposed items are not described as outcomes.
The audit and current handbooks provide substantive public evidence, but absent minutes and recordings materially limit verification of Board outcomes.
