New staff benefits paid for with expected Medicaid billing
What happened
On June 2, 2026, the board approved a health-premium discount for employees' dependents and a wellness stipend for three contracted staff. The minutes put the stipend program at about $15,000 a year and estimate up to $40,000 a year in new Medicaid billing to pay for it. The board also approved an estimated 40% cooperative supplemental pay payout. In September it considered rejoining Indiana's public employee retirement fund (PERF).
Why it matters to families
These decisions raise the school's ongoing costs. Part of the plan depends on Medicaid revenue that has not yet come in.
