After the March vote, board studies other uses for the school building

What happened
In February the board asked voters for an $11.4 million, 20-year bond to repair and update Cornish Elementary. After the March 7 annual meeting, the board asked its facilities committee to look at 'alternative uses of the facility and the cost of decommissioning it.' In June, board members said shutting down the school was estimated to cost $850,000.
Why it matters to families
Families should know the building's future is in question. Only small repair projects will be done within the budget for now. The minutes collected here do not state the bond vote result.
