Four Eastvale schools set for traditional calendar in 2027–28

What happened

The September 8 consent vote included conversion of Eastvale, Harada, Rosa Parks and Ronald Reagan elementary schools from multitrack year-round schedules to a traditional calendar for 2027–28. Rondo remains year-round.

Why it matters to families

Families need time to plan new calendars and transportation; bell times, summer supports and employee transition details need followup.

The evidence

Staff said declining enrollment created room for the change, class-size caps would remain unchanged, and employees would be held harmless in work months and pay cycles during the first transition year. Later details require negotiation. Parents raised traffic, childcare, disability-support and language-learning concerns. The recording calls the electronic consent vote but does not speak its numerical tally.
