USD 232 approves new Grades 3–5 elementary report card

What happened

The Board approved revised report cards for Grades 3–5, effective in the 2026–27 school year. The new format removes D and F grades, adds an A+ designation, and eliminates the Red/Yellow/Green and AB/AT/BL indicators.

Why it matters to families

Families of students in Grades 3–5 will receive achievement information through a substantially different grading format. The district says the change is intended to align these grades with the standards-based proficiency scale already used in Grades K–2 and make progress and mastery clearer.
