What happened

Staff said district student accounts and school devices were already configured to block open algorithmic YouTube browsing while allowing assigned Google Classroom videos.

Why it matters to families

The change narrows unstructured video access while preserving instructional and accessibility uses. It is not a ban on all technology or a restriction on every family’s personal home account.

The evidence

The August 18 RISE presentation describes the completed Google administration change. A software audit and core stack per content area remain plans; the record does not establish that all but five district applications were canceled.
