What happened

On June 9, 2026 staff proposed buying a 140,000 square foot building in Meridian to move about 500 central-office staff into one place.

Why it matters to families

The one-time cost is about $29 million, paid mostly from land sales and reserves. Staff say the move would save on utilities and building costs and free space at Legacy Campus for leasing.

The evidence

The presentation lists a $29M purchase and refurbishment cost and about $29.8M in expected sources, including $11.7M available now and $15M in future property sales. A purchase agreement and resolution were attached to the agenda.
