Board reviewing student phone and screen-time rules
What happened
The board began discussing screen time in July 2026 and on June 10 and September 9 took up personal devices in schools. The September 9 item asks whether the existing personal-device policy still matches the board's intent, and a member asked about 'away for the day' approaches. Personal devices, instructional screen time and artificial intelligence are being looked at together. No new policy has been adopted.
