New superintendent hired after Dr. Case retires

What happened
Superintendent Dr. Aaron Case retired at the end of the 2025-26 school year. On June 15, 2026 the board approved a three-year contract for a new superintendent, Dr. Reid Amones, starting July 1, 2026, with a $150,000 base salary.
Why it matters to families
The superintendent runs the whole district and carries out the board's decisions, so a new leader can change priorities for every school.
The evidence
In the June 15, 2026 hearing and special meeting recording, the board president reads the contract summary ("The annual basic salary is 150,000", "The agreement is for three years") and the board approves it. Dr. Case's retirement was on the February 9, 2026 personnel report. The district's own announcement spells the new superintendent's name Reid Amones; captions spell it differently.
