Fall River Public Schools is governed by the Fall River School Committee: six members elected citywide, plus the sitting Mayor of Fall River, who chairs the committee by virtue of holding that office. The committee meets roughly monthly and refers most policy and spending decisions through nine standing subcommittees (Finance, Policy, Facilities and Operations, and others) before a full vote. Three of the six elected seats turned over after the November 2025 municipal election. Since then, one member has formally accused the committee of hiding meetings and over-redacting the minutes it does release, the district's superintendent resigned mid-year, and the state education department has been reviewing how the committee itself operates.

Collin Dias alleges the committee over-redacted approved minutes from 11 named 2025 meetings and that a Redistricting Working Group met in secret on eight dates; both complaints were still listed for review as of the January 12, 2026 agenda, the most recent record on this point.

Every agenda in this record shows the committee formally voting to approve prior minutes, meaning minutes are being produced and adopted internally even where this page could not find a public copy. Massachusetts law also allows redacting some material from released minutes, such as active negotiations or personnel matters. What this page can say is narrower: on the two official channels it checked, a full year of monthly meetings produced no posted minutes, and the complaint alleging over-redaction was still open as of the last collected record.
