District plan: AI tools roll out teacher-first, with student training planned for 2026-27

Curriculum

What happened

The district's state-approved 2026-2029 technology plan sets a goal to bring in generative AI responsibly. It describes a slow, teacher-first rollout (Google Gemini, Brisk AI and NotebookLM) and says staff will learn in 2026-27 how to guide students in using AI.

Why it matters to families

Parents can expect AI to show up in classes, and teachers rather than students are first. This is a plan, not a student AI rule. No separate AI policy was found.

The evidence

The plan's Goal 1 and its description of the AI Kickoff on the November 2025 Superintendent Conference Day. Status date June 10, 2026 shows state approval.
