District news
Superintendent resigns; Dr. Chante Jordan is interim leader
What happened
Superintendent Dr. Barry Williams resigned effective July 31, 2026. The board named Dr. Chante Jordan, the district's human resources director, as interim superintendent starting July 20.
Why it matters to families
The superintendent runs the whole district. A leadership change right after a school closure and during money troubles can change plans and priorities.
The evidence
The district's July 22 announcement says the board accepted the voluntary resignation and appointed Dr. Jordan interim superintendent until further notice. The July 20 meeting recording shows the votes.
