Voters decide a $903,000-a-year school levy on Nov. 3

Financial

What happened

The board put a two-year supplemental levy on the November 3, 2026 ballot. It asks for $903,000 a year, up $144,000 from the current $759,000 levy. Most of it, $614,000, would pay teacher and staff salaries and benefits. The rest would go to security and a school resource officer, supplies and curriculum, technology, and maintenance and transportation.

Why it matters to families

The district says state money does not cover all its General Fund costs, which were $11.9 million in 2025-26. The levy would cost an estimated $93 per $100,000 of taxable value starting in late 2027. State tax-relief money paid all of the current levy, so local taxpayers paid $0 for it in 2025 and 2026.

The evidence

The official ballot lists $903,000 per year for two years starting July 1, 2027, with the five purposes and amounts. It says the board adopted the resolution on August 18, 2026.
