What happened

On April 27, 2026, the board renamed the former Wacousta Elementary building Wacousta Commons. It leased space there to the Clinton County Sheriff's Office and the Grand Ledge Area District Library. Later it added a preschool and plans a culinary arts program, helped by a $400,000 state grant.

Why it matters to families

The building stays a district property used by families and students, including after-school library programs.
