Board adopts new student cell phone policy
What happened
On May 18, 2026 the board voted 4-0 to approve Policy JICJ on student cell phones. The April draft says elementary and middle school students keep phones silent and out of sight all day. High school students keep them put away during class and are discouraged from using them at other times.
