A small county district that posts only short agendas
Hancock County Schools runs four schools for about 900 students in Sneedville and the surrounding county. A seven-member board, elected by district, meets on the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Director of Schools office. Director of Schools Charlotte Mullins runs the district. The district website posts one-page agendas for some meetings but no minutes, budget documents or meeting recordings, so most decisions can only be seen as agenda items.
Teacher contract up for a vote
The November 3, 2026 agenda includes a three-year teacher MOU for 2026-2029.
State funding application
The board is also set to approve the 2027 TISA application and budget amendments on November 3.
Budget approved in June
The 2026-27 budget, board policies and a teacher MOU were on the June 4, 2026 agenda; no figures are posted.
Little posted record
Only four agendas from the past 12 months are online. The district YouTube channel has no recordings from the past year.
Agendas are posted ahead of meetings, including the November 3 meeting, and public comment ('Open Forum') is on every agenda.
