How Hart County allocates resources and records Board decisions

The FY2027 tentative budget lists $33.52 million in report-wide resources and appropriations, while approved minutes document three position eliminations, a 1% employee raise and continued closeout of the bus garage and LeGrande renovation.

Hart County combines local taxes, Kentucky SEEK and other state support, federal and restricted programs, food-service resources and beginning balances. Budget totals include opening balances and exclude specified fund groups, so they are accounting resources rather than current-year revenue or actual spending.

FY2027 General Fund resources and appropriations total $23,578,765.64

The tentative budget includes $3,740,113.64 in beginning balance and $19,838,652 in proposed receipts.

The tentative-budget report grand total is $33,522,429.58

The report explicitly excludes funds 360, 4XX, 6XX, 7XXX, 8XXX and 9XXX.

April General Fund expenditures reached $14,718,308.08 year to date

The detailed April monthly report also lists $17,081,844.42 in year-to-date receipts and a $3,925,630.89 beginning balance.

The Board eliminated three positions under financial constraints

April minutes eliminate one fully grant-funded school-psychologist position, reducing those positions from three to two, a middle-school band position, and the high-school NDCC/JROTC position.

Six school Section 6 carryovers total $59,000

May minutes list $6,000 for Bonnieville, $2,500 for Cub Run, $18,000 for Hart County High, $18,500 for LeGrande, $2,000 for Memorial and $12,000 for Munfordville.

The Board accepted an FY2025 audit in February, but the audit document was not found in the collected repositories, so its opinion and findings cannot be summarized. The reviewed actual-spending records do not include a compatible enrollment denominator for per-pupil spending.
