District moves to sell two unused buildings

What happened

The district is working to sell two buildings: the Washington School building and the T&I buildings. The board reported in July that its attorney said realtor bids are not required, in August said a survey is needed first, and the September 14 agenda proposes hiring a surveyor (up to $2,500) and listing the Washington School for sale.

Why it matters to families

Selling buildings could bring in one-time money for a district whose enrollment is falling, but it also decides what happens to those properties and the tenants in one of them.
