What happened

The board set the real-property tax rate at 67.7 cents, up from 59 cents in FY26; the personal-property rate remains 49.2 cents. The district expects the rates to generate $204,809.54, compared with $182,183 from the prior-year levy.

Why it matters to families

The higher real-property rate increases the district tax burden for property owners and is expected to bring in about $22,627 more in general-fund revenue than last year's levy.

The evidence

The August 25 minutes record the board's approval of 2026–27 compensating rates of 67.7 cents per $100 of real property and 49.2 cents per $100 of personal property, versus FY26 rates of 59 cents and 49.2 cents. The minutes project $204,809.54 in revenue versus $182,183 previously. The board subsequently adopted those same rates at its September 14 special-called meeting (document 137043).
