What happened

The board put two questions on the November 3, 2026 ballot. Issue 5A asks for $73 million a year to raise pay for teachers, support staff and school leaders and to fund career and technical education. Issue 5B asks for $60 million a year, with yearly inflation increases, for repairs, roofs, heating and cooling, technology and safety upgrades. Each has a citizens committee to review spending.

Why it matters to families

The district is spending more than it takes in. Its own plan says that if voters say no, it may cut staff, freeze salaries, shorten work calendars or close more schools.

The evidence

The ballot language and the June budget plan are official district records. The August 20 agenda lists the election resolution. The election result is not in the collected record.
