Armed security officers now on every Levittown campus

What happened

This school year, armed security officers are stationed at each school campus. They stay in vehicles on school grounds and go inside only in an active assailant emergency. The board picked Covert Investigations as the vendor on June 24 (two members voted no) and approved its contract on August 12 (five yes, one no).

Why it matters to families

It is a major change to campus security that students and parents will notice, and it adds a new yearly cost. Some residents said at public comment they did not know it was coming; the district says it discussed the idea publicly starting in November 2024.

The evidence

The superintendent's August 31 letter says armed security personnel are added on each campus and explains how the program works. Meeting recordings (auto-captions) show the votes. A $400,000 placeholder for it was in the 2026-27 operations budget line shown on February 4, 2026.
