Review finds special education paperwork and supports need to be more consistent

Day-to-day

What happened

A year-long outside review of special education (Sept 2025 to Aug 2026) praised staff and inclusive practices but found uneven IEP and prior written notice processes, weak service tracking, and a need for more behavior analyst support and training.

Why it matters to families

About 16% of Levittown students have disabilities, and costs and needs are rising. Better IEP records and behavior support affect what services children actually get.

The evidence

The August 12, 2026 presentation lists strengths and growth areas and an action plan. The budget deck also adds five special education teachers and 10 aides for 2026-27.
